Your Laptop now playing on media:scape

Steelcase media:scape
Office furniture maker Steelcase is jumping into the technology arena once again with media:scape, a meeting solution that allows multiple users to show off what's on each laptop during a meeting. Just make sure you changed your screen-saver to something safe.

media:scape works like this: A group of people gather for a meeting and open a small panel in the center of the Steelcase table and each pull out a disk about the size of a hockey puck. The users then attached the disks to a laptop. A bracket on the side of the table holds a flat screen panel (not supplied by Steelcase). When a user taps his puck, the information on the laptop is displayed on the screen, showing off the content to the rest of the group. When a different user taps his puck, his screen pops up on the screen.

There are lots of applications for this, from casual meeting areas to formal board rooms.

Recognizing the challenge of connecting furniture to technology, all the computer connectors can be changed out to work with new laptop models.
